MISSION STATEMENT

The goal of the Pine Gallery is to offer the community the educational opportunity to see and enjoy art by professional artists whose work represents the best of major currents in contemporary art.  We exhibit museum caliber art to the community.   The gallery brings works of many artists of national and international stature, as well as providing a showcase for deserving local artists.  The exhibits aim to reflect a variety of media, styles, cultural veiw points, and levels of artistic expressions.  We also encourage appreciation and understanding of art to students and schools. We work closely with area schools and find that our exhibits are a great educational resource for students and adults with widely varying art backgrounds.

The Pine Gallery has exhibited many well-known, excellent artists in the past including Sir Jacob Epstein, James Kearns, Alice Neel, Raphael Soyer, Richard Anuszkiewicz and Ilya Bolotowsky, Dorothy Gillespie and Alexander Calder and many New Jersey and metropolitan area artists.

PINE GALLERY ART ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The selection of exhibiting artists is made by the Art Advisory Committee, a volunteer group made up of art educators and artists.  Shows are generally scheduled a year in advance.  Artists interested in exhibiting should click on the button below and fill out the gallery exhibit application and submit a CD (jpegs) with some samples of your work and support statement, a resume showing formal art education, past exhibitions and awards to the Art Advisory Committee, emtuohey@live.com  or mail to EMILIANA TUOHEY, Maurice M. Pine Library, 10-01 Fair Lawn Ave., Fair Lawn, NJ  07410.

SPACE

The Pine Gallery is located on the second floor (LEVEL C) of the Maurice M. Pine Public Library.  Rolling walls expand and fold up like an accordion.  Each panel is constructed of 1' thick fiberglass. System is connected by self-leveling hinges. 360 hinges provide the greatest arrangement flexibility.  Can be used as a straight wall or angled on the ends to form a space.  The gallery provides hardware for hanging wall works, which must be suitably framed and wired to fit on the gallery's hardware.  We also have wooden pillars for sculpture.
