The Staff and the Board of Trustees of the Maurice M. Pine Free Public Library share in the residents' frustration regarding our elevator. We have faced unforeseen construction and permitting delays at multiple steps along the way due to the age of what was there before. It took longer than projected to widen the space to ensure that the new elevator would be compliant in every way. That compliance also includes the fire prevention and suppression system, which should be the final piece to be replaced and upgraded and is currently in process. In the meantime, our staff has made every effort to ensure that every request is fulfilled and that the temporary lack of an elevator will not be a barrier to continuing to provide positive experiences at our Library for the entire Fair Lawn community. Thank you everyone for your continued patience and support. We join everyone in anticipating the day when our new elevator will be completed and in service for all.
